Charles Reid, 17 ans gagne la grande finale Shakedown 2008 (Saint-Sauveur, le 5 avril 2008) Charles Reid, 17 ans, de Mont-Tremblant, a remporté la grande finale de l’Empire Shakedown 2008 présentée samedi à la station Mont Saint-Sauveur, ce qui lui a valu une bourse de 15 000 $. L’Empire Shakedown 2008, l’un des cinq meilleurs événements de snowboard classé dans le TOP 5 mondial par l’industrie du snowboard, a également vu monter sur le podium Sébastien Toutant, 15 ans, de Lanaudière, et Antonin Chamberland, de Sherbrooke, dans l’ordre. Á noter que ce dernier était l’un des deux seuls amateurs à prendre part à la finale, l’autre étant Matt Kulisek, de Saint-Sauveur. De plus, lors du spectacle de skateboard de la mi-temps VANS, Thomas Parent a remporté une bourse de 2 000 $. In addition to honours, the 17 year old snowboarder also won himself $15 000 in prize money. This year’s competition also had two other Quebecois boarders climb onto the podium, namely Sébastien Toutant, a 15 year old boarder from Lanaudière, and Sherbrooke’s Antonin Chamberland. Chamberland was in fact one of only two amateur snowboarders to take part in the finals, the other being Saint-Sauveur’s Matt Kulisek. Additionally, during the VANS Skateboarding half-time show and competition, Thomas Parent won top honours and a money prize of $2 000.
