If you have ever visited the Art Department at Timebomb, you would see that I am partial to Polaroids.. My SLR-680 being my baby. That being said, I was very excited to stumble across RVCA's Raymold Molinar's Polaroid photo blog.. worth a peek, he has captured some some of the most surreal and ephemeral images that I have seen shot with a vintage SX-70.

A Rolling Perspective Winnipeg

Etnies and Color Magazine's self-portrait art show is making it's way to Winnipeg.

Etnies and Color Magazine asked skaters to shoot a photo of themselves from their own perspective, skateboarding. Over 200 portraits have been collected from skaters across Canada, the United States and as far as Japan. With the help of Fourstar Clothing, a selection of these self portraits of pro skateboarders, artists, and other talented individuals have been composed into an exhibition in celebration of skateboarding.

The show has been broken into a three-part art crawl (or roll) traveling across the country during the next six months from Vancouver (BC) to Montreal (QC) with stops in Winnipeg (MB), Calgary (AB) and Toronto (ON). Opening receptions in each of these cities take place in separate spaces at different times. Attendees are encouraged to take their cruiser boards out and celebrate the freedom of skateboarding and embrace the roll from spot to spot.

Etnies Canadian Concrete Richmond BMX Jam Results!

July 22nd marked the date of the Richmond Park Etnies Canadian Concrete BMX Jam. The event had the largest turnout of am riders to date, with a record number 7 heats stacked with talent from Kelowna to the USA. Pro riders and 5 year old ams took turns shredding the street and park friendly surroundings, and with the capacity to have all different styles of riders there, Richmond got sessioned heavily in all shape and manner until sundown. The next jam takes place next month in Coquitlam.

Beautiful Losers Documentary Opening on Friday

Probably no better articulation of the DIY mindset in contemporary art is Beautiful Losers, RVCA Advocate Aaron Rose's amazing traveling exhibition and book that brings together the work of an amazing group of artists including Emerica and RVCA rider Ed Templeton, and RVCA ANP Artist's Clare Rojas, Jo Jackson, and Barry Mc Gee - and many others. The documentary for this is out on Friday in NYC, and some more exclusive clips of the filmhave been released.

Altamont x Ricky Powell

Ricky Powell teamed up with Altamont and presented his world famous slide show at the Silent Movie Theatre in LA last Sunday. The show was a mixture of flicks including hip-hop icons such as Run DMC, Eazy-E, LL Cool J and The Wu-Tang Clan; raw street photography from New York City, and screens from early '60s TV shows like The Munsters. Every photo was presented with an interesting backstory with the Rickster getting more and more hyped as the night went on. Check the slideshow here.
