This years Harmopny Festival kickoff mounted what may have been the most unlikely, bipolar spectacle in its electric 31-year history, mixing the peaceful trances of hippies and the debut of the mini-MegaRamps's first-ever skateboard competion and Rail Jam. This years riders included an all-star line-up: Bob Burnquist, PLG, Buster Halterman, Lincoln Ueda, Rob Lorifice, Andy Macdonald, Adam Taylor, and Omar Hasan.
The contest was judged by legends Lance Mountain, Steve Cabellero, Neal Hendrix, and welcomed the streetside input from the Lizard King, hosted by the always animated Dave Duncan.
Final Standings 1st - PLG $10,000 2nd - Bob Burnquist $6,500 3rd - Andy Macdonald $3,500 4th - Adam Taylor $3,000 5th - Buster Halterman $2,500 6th - Rob Lorifice $2,000 7th - Lincoln Ueda $1,500 8th - Omar Hasan $1,500

X Games Street, Superpark, and MegaRamp

California RampWorks is working with California Skateparks and Nate Wessel to create the most realistic street settings utilizing their vast experience in the world of concrete, wood, and steel construction techniques. This years superpark will boast concrete trannys and bowls with hybrid wood elements throughout. The street course also contains concrete sections to give the athletes a solid set-up to work with.
The MegaRamp will also be adding a Rail Jam Contest to add to the excitement.
