DC KING OF CHICAGO IN ONLY TWO WEEKS
| After months of qualifiers all across the United States and a considerable amount of hype, DC King of Chicago is just two short weeks away. Visitdcshoes.com/king for info on the contest, the qualifiers, the city of Chicago, and how to watch and follow it all on October 10-11. DC will be crowning the top unpaid, unsigned street skateboarder!
Let’s keep one big thing in mind here: the purse for DC King of Chicago is $10,000. Looking at the contest set-up, if one am dominates and take the win on both day 1 and 2, he’ll walk with $7000 in his pocket. That’s quite a chunk-o-change for an otherwise-unpaid am skater.

Hit up your local shop to see if they got copies yet, or check out theStandard Films site for more information.
DANE REYNOLDS CHALKS UP BEST ‘CT FINISH EVER DC CONGRATULATES WITH VIDEO AT dcshoes.com | | Watch it now.
| Congratulations to Dane Reynolds on a great finish and contest in general at the Hurley Pro at Trestles last week. The DC Surf team member took 2nd in the contest, his best World Championship Tour finish ever. We invite you to check outdcshoes.com/surf now for a congratulatory video of Dane.
Thank goodness for Dane—he was the only surfer people seemed to care about or enthused to watch at the contest, and he made the contest darn fun to watch. Surfing a short, stubby excuse for a board dubbed the “Dumpster Diver” (He’s been surfing unorthodox boards lately—you've seen his new DC ad), young Dane seemed to have the whole beach and even his fellow competitors pulling for him as he punted his way through the rounds. More insight on that here. | | With that funny little board under-arm, Dane figures out how to deal with the Trestles crowd.
| As far as his specific achievements go at the Hurley Pro—you saw in last week’s Newsclip he won the Expression Session early in the week, and he went on to chalk up the two highest scoring waves of the contest on the way to his 2nd place finish.
The new video that we posted today has all the best Dane clips from throughout the contest, from the expressive airs in the, uh, Expression Session to his unorganized march through to the finals. Click here to watch it.
Does this signal a new era of Dane caring about and even winning contests? Who knows. But, he’s in France now for the Quiksilver Pro… tune in to follow him live by clicking here.

DHERS WINS PARK, KAGY 2ND IN VERT AT DEW SALT LAKE
| Last weekend was a familiar scene with two DC riders on the podium as the Dew Tour stopped in Salt Lake City. Daniel Dhers was back with the win in park, and Chad Kagy was solid again and bagged 2nd. | | Dhers sends an awful high double tail whip over the hip.
|
In park, Daniel took the win with solid tricks on every hit, namely a barspin flair, 360 barspin backwards over the box, a 360 backflip tailwhip, a 720, and a 360 whip on the step down.
Over in Vert, it was Kagy going nuts on every wall. A flair, invert, tuck, flair whip, nac nac x up one hander, double tailwhip, tailwhip flair, superman seat grab over the bank gap, and a double tailwhip flair as an ender put Kagy on the box. | | And inside, Kagy.
|
The Dew Tour now heads down to Orlando for the finals… watch out because Daniel and his DC teammate Dave Mirra occupy two of the top three spots for the overall title. For more, click over to Dew Tour’s site.
