WHAT’S WRONG WITH GREG MYERS? New Interview at dcshoes.com | | What’s wrong with Greg Myers? That’s the first question that we ask in a new interview at dcshoes.com/skate. Made to go along with his new ad that’s hitting skate shop shelves as you read this, the interview has a bunch of rad skate photos that you haven’t seen plus some not-so-hard-hitting questions about dogs, fishing, and how he got the nickname “Little Pooper”. DC AND GRIND FOR LIFE RAISE $8,000 AT ASR TO HELP PEOPLE WITH CANCER
| | GFL founder Mike with DC's Jeff Pang, Tolentino, and others. Helping people with cancer is great, especially when it involves chilling, drinking brews, and skateboarding.
| The 2009 Chill Zone Lounge at ASR presented by DC was another huge success! Last week at the ASR Trade Expo was 4th installment of the DC/Grind for Life High Ollie Challenge. With $1000 cash on the line, when the dust settled Luis Tolentino took home the cash with a 42" winning ollie.
The vibes were good and everyone was having a nice time, so everyone pulled together, pooled some cash and offered up a a Switch Ollie Challenge. Aldran Garcia took the prize with a solid 40" switch ollie—insane height for switch. While everyone was having a good time olli-ing and drinking beers, $8,000 was raised for Grind for Life to help people with cancer. For more on GFL, Click here.
DANE REYNOLDS WINS EXPRESSION SESSION AT HURLEY PRO
| | Dane at Lowers this week. This photo isn't from the Expression Session, but rather his round 3 heat. Regardless, it's a sick air.
| Immediately following round 3 of the Hurley Pro at Lower Trestles this week, organizers held the Expression Session—and Dane Reynolds won it! Thanks to big boosts, reverses, and some tradmark Dane-esque surfing, an overwhelming 40% of the Facebook-voting fans chose Dane as the winner. Well-done, Dane.
The contest, the only North America stop on the 2009 World Championship tour, ran through the weekend. We'll have the full contest recap in this Friday's Newsclip, or Click here for the latest.
DANE 3RD AT SURFER POLL
| | Dane celebrates with his bud, Thomas Campbell, Director, The Present.
| More congrats to Dane Reynolds as he earned 3rd place at the 2009 Surfer Poll Awards in Anaheim, CA on Tuesday. Dane accepted his award in typical Dane fashion, keeping his acceptance dry, short, real, and funny—reminding us all that’s it’s a little strange to be voted as the 3rd most favorite surfer of the year (what does that even mean?).

JUMP JAM! FUNNY KEN BLOCK RIDE ALONG VIDEO FROM DiRT 2 LAUNCH EVENT
| | Word to the wise: don't get in a car with Ken Block. Just ask this guy.
| To welcome the new video game DiRT 2 (which Ken Block, Travis Pastrana and Dave Mirra are all featured in), the folks at Codemasters held a really fun event. Dubbed the Jump Jam, Ken took VIP’s on really crazy ride-alongs in his rally-ready Subaru Impreza WRX STI. While he jumped, drifted, slide, and generally freaked out his passengers, they kept the cameras rolling inside the car… go here to see the very funny video that was put together from the day.
